TROMPE-L’OEIL AND MURALS

(Literally "deceives the eye")

Trompe-l’oeil is a type of painting, usually still-life, which by means of various illusionist devices persuades the spectator that he is looking at the actual objects represented.

At Prism Décor we have a wealth of experienced Artists and Muralists whose work speaks for itself. Our Murals are usually painted on walls and ceilings on site, whilst much Trompe-l’oeil is painted on canvas or board in the studio.

The Trompe-l’oeil curtains illustrated here mix the two mediums quite cleverly. The painted curtains are in the foreground with the mural being in the background giving the curtains more reality.

The Mural illustrated above was painted in a Chateau in Belgium. Much work and attention to detail resulted in one very happy client.
