OLD LEATHER
A recent commission carried out by Prism Décor was the Marx
Club in Dean Street, Soho owned by Marco Pierre White.
The walls were decorated with canvasses, which were created in the
studio. The canvasses were then fitted on site where they were further
patinated with bees wax and French polish. The effect was a fabulously
rich oxblood patination, which gave the feeling of "old leather."
Any colour could be used and the possibilities are limitless, with
applications to furniture an option. This technique (on the right)
is very unusual and it set the scene for the Marx Club. |
